Members

Members should have a strong interest in the development of a United States position on standards both nationally and internationally. The development of standards within the scope of the ISO Technical Committee and U.S. TAG will have a significant effect upon the affected industries and organizations. Participation in the TAG will allow members to directly express their interest and opinions into the standards process and by voting to provide a means to achieve consensus of opinion.

Sponsoring Members

Sponsoring members should have a strong interest in the development of a United States position on standards both nationally and internationally. The development of standards within the scope of the ISO Technical Committee and U.S. Tag will have a significant effect upon the affected industries and organizations.

While sponsoring members cannot be afforded a dominance status or marketing opportunity, they can be recognized at all meetings of the TC Committee and the US TAG. As stated in the ISO Annex SO.2; "while it is acceptable for sponsors to be identified, and for their support to be recognized in the meeting, an ISO meeting shall not be used as an opportunity for the promotion for commercial or other reasons of the products or services of any sponsor."

This is an opportunity that will bring both international and national recognition to the sponsoring organizations.
